ConnectTherapy™ & the Foot-Ankle Complex - Vancouver

When To Rule It In or Out & Its Relationship to the Thorax

16-05-series-p2-day-4-31

  • Please note that there is no pre-requisite for this course – this is an excellent course to take as an introduction to ConnectTherapy™. If you’ve taken courses with LJ in the past, this is an excellent opportunity to focus on your foot-ankle skills. And if this is your first course with LJ, we would recommend starting with this course and then registering for the 4-day ConnectTherapy & the Thorax course in September.

We’re excited to launch this brand new ConnectTherapy™ course taking place at the LJLI Headquarters in North Vancouver!

Are you looking for a simple yet powerful way of looking at function and treatment of the foot and ankle? Tired of navigating through the maze of conflicting information and terminology in the foot/ankle literature? Interested in learning how to maximize results and make changes to your patients’ feet that previously have been considered unchangeable and “structural”?

Are you wondering why a subgroup of your patients with recurrent tendinopathies, stress fractures, and other load related problems continue to struggle despite following all the latest research based protocols? Looking for inspiration on exercise ideas and a logical progression that goes beyond theraband and wobble boards?

Then this course is for you! Come learn a new way of looking at integrated foot/ankle function that considers influences from the rest of the body above in a structured, clinical reasoning format.

In addition to learning innovative assessment and treatment techniques created by Dr. LJ Lee, this weekend will open up a whole new framework that will make your current techniques more effective and efficient. You’ll learn the tests that allow you to identify when the foot/ankle complex is the “Primary Driver” of your patient’s problem – whether it is symptomatic or not. Learning the predictive algorithm of the ConnectTherapy Drivers Diagnostic Chart™ will give you the confidence to know who will immediately and positively respond to treatment of the foot/ankle, and which patients require treatment elsewhere to optimize function and loads through the foot/ankle complex. You’ll also learn how the thorax and foot/ankle are related and connected via a variety of mechanisms. Finally, you’ll understand the role of footwear and how to make decisions re: support and orthotics.

By the end of this course you’ll have new tools to assess the foot and ankle, enhanced hands-on and visual perceptive abilities to see where and how the foot is non-optimal during functional tasks, and new treatment techniques to release and train Foot/Ankle Drivers for better function across multiple activities.
