Biography
Kya is a registered Physiotherapist and certified Athletic Therapist and has worked with a number of athletes both on-field and in clinic. She has several years of experience working with sport teams including hockey, football, soccer, lacrosse and rugby.
She is a certified Athletic therapist graduating from York University and subsequently completed a Masters in Physiotherapy at Oxford Brookes University in the UK. She has worked closely with Sport Doctors, Orthopedic surgeons, Physiotherapists and athletic trainers in a variety of different environments.
Kya has completed the ConnectTherapy™ Series. Which she uses to assess and treat the body as a whole. She has taken numerous courses including IMS, Stott Pilates, soft tissue release with movement, Functional Movement Screen, Craig Liebenson Mag 7 course, taping and bracing advanced techniques and concussion prevention and treatment programs. She also presented a thesis entitled: "The Functional Movement Screen as a predictor of injuries in contact sports", during her Masters program.
